Friday the 13th The New Blood Soundtrack

Released in 1988, Part VII brought an intriguing twist to the “Friday the 13th” saga. Introducing a fresh-faced heroine with telekinetic powers, the film successfully blended classic slasher elements with supernatural overtones.

This installment, while upholding the legacy of suspense and sheer terror, also ventured into uncharted territories in terms of its musical landscape.

Harry Manfredini has been the heartbeat of the “Friday the 13th” series, crafting the hauntingly iconic “ki ki ki ma ma ma” motif that sent shivers down the spines of many. However, an interesting turn of events took place during the making of “The New Blood.”

While Manfredini was deeply engrossed in another project, Sean Cunningham’s “DeepStar Six,” “The New Blood” was left musically orphaned. Due to these prior film engagements, Manfredini’s involvement in “The New Blood” and the subsequent “Jason Takes Manhattan” was limited.

Fred Mollin, known for his work on “Friday the 13th: The Series,” was brought on board by producer Iain Paterson to add his musical touch to “The New Blood.”

Manfredini’s original compositions for the film only spanned half the movie. Mollin stepped in to fill the gaps and ensure the film’s soundtrack remained cohesive.
